One of the most popular handicappers at Covers.com, and recently the head of a private betting syndicate, Jazz Ray is back at Bigal.com to serve the public.
Active since: 2018
Location: Nanaimo, BC, Canada
Jazz's information has previously been found on several other leading sports handicapping websites. Not anymore. As of September 2025, Ray is proud to call BigAl.com his exclusive home.
Jazz has been wagering on sports for more than 25 years. During that time, he's had a lot more good years than bad ones. In 2018, as word of his consistent success got out, he was urged to join the "SVS" handicapping team at Covers.com, as lead handicapper of point-spread (football and basketball) sports. His partners (and their simulator) handled the money-line sports. Jazz more than held up his end of the bargain but the partnership ultimately didn't last.
With the sports world on hold due to the pandemic, in the fall of 2020, Jazz decided it was the perfect time to go out on his own. He separated from his partners and began to handle making all the picks, with his own name and face. It's been that way ever since. The buck stops with him. Just the way that Ray likes it.
A winner in all walks of life, Jazz had a documented 58-37 (61%) record with his NFL point-spread side plays in 2020/21, his first season on his own, as a professional handicapper. Not a surprise to those who know Ray; he's excelled in the NFL over the years.
Ray's college football was nearly as strong, going 67-51 (57%) overall, including a 28-18 (61% mark) with his totals. Jazz completed the trifecta by hitting 63% (17-10) with his Canadian football selections. Some of you may recall that he also absolutely dominated the NBA--it was actually rather remarkable.
Jazz has continued to deliver winners at an uncanny rate, proving that his initial success was no fluke. 2022 was a banner year from start to finish. 2023 started out slowly but by the end of the year, Ray still finished in the black. Ray left the public eye in 2024 and the first part of 2025 to head a private betting syndicate. NBA/NCAA basketball was a combined 57.6% last season while NFL/NCAA football was 55.6%. And Soccer was up more than 25 net games for the year. Exceptional numbers for most-- but Ray expects more and he's back with a vengeance in 2025.
Jazz bets on all the major sports. Depending on the season, you can usually expect anywhere from 3-7 plays per day. All selections supported by concise, logical, ultra-sharp analysis.
Stocks, real estate, sports, gambling. When there's big money involved, Ray wins. Period.
