At 7:10 pm, our complimentary selection is on the Texas Rangers over the Houston Astros. The latest battle for bragging rights in the Lone Star State is occurring this weekend with the Astros taking round one on Friday night. Both of these mediocre teams will have a decision to make in the coming days as the trade deadline approaches. And that decision is whether to be a buyer or seller. For tonight, the Rangers will turn to 38-year-old Jacob deGrom in Game 2 here in Houston. deGrom is having another solid, if not spectacular season for Texas, with a 7-6 record and 3.67 ERA in 20 starts covering just over 110 innings. The veteran righthander has faced the Astros six previous times in his career and three of those starts have been here at Daikin Park (formerly Minute Maid). deGrom has already faced the Astros twice this season, and in his last one on May 26, he held them to two runs on four hits in six innings with six strikeouts and one walk. Take the Rangers. As always, good luck...Al McMordie.MLB - Over / Under - Sat, Aug 01 @ 07:15 PM

My selection is on the 'over' between Arizona and Cleveland at 7:15 pm et on Saturday. We saw a low-scoring Diamondbacks victory to open this series last night. The knee-jerk reaction from most bettors will probably be to back the 'under' again with the Guardians handing the ball to their emerging ace Parker Messick. We'll go the other way, however, as I believe this total will prove too low. The D'Backs have a right-handed heavy lineup that can give opposing lefties trouble. Meanwhile, the Guardians will look to bounce back in a game that will be dictated by the performance of an inconsistent D'Backs bullpen with rookie Kohl Drake getting the start and likely working on a short leash. A 5-4 result either way is well within the realm of possibility here. Take the over (8*).Get Free Picks, Big Game alerts, and Winning Info from our champion handicappers.
