Analysis
#114 NORTH TEXAS (-) over Florida Atlantic at 7:30 PM EST With four straight outright wins (2-1 ATS), the Mean Green should have little trouble widening the margin against the visiting Owls. UNT ranks second in the FBS in scoring (43.1 ppg) and passing offense (341.0 ypg), and fourth in total offense (545.7 ypg). Head coach Neal Brown’s team should have no trouble exploiting an FAU defense that ranks 129th in scoring (34.0 ppg allowed) and 134th in total defense (443.9 ypg allowed). Dating back to the start of the 2021 season, North Texas has been an excellent source of revenue notching a lucrative 42-25 ATS record including a tremendous 24-4 ATS provided the Mean Green check in off a true road game. As long as Coach Brown and his troops are not off a blowout loss of eight points or more, this angle jets to a stunning 17-1 ATS including a golden 15-0 ATS provided their opponent slides in off a conference battle. Also, UNT has been lights out in their last 30 home games posting a proud 22-8 SU and 18-7 ATS mark including an awesome 12-0 SU and ATS provided the Mean Green are priced as a favorite of -3 or more. Kudos to FAU for its home win over Rice. However, with only five days to prepare, there is no way we can back an Owls defense that has been assaulted for 105 points combined in their last two games. To make matters worse, Florida Atlantic hasn't been worth a lick in true road games inking a timid 7-28 SU and 14-21 ATS mark in its last 35 tries. In this situation checking in with confidence off a straight up win, head coach Zach Kittley and his kids fall to a rough 3-12 SU and 4-11 ATS. Finally, in the regular season holding a team won/loss percentage of .501 or higher, the Owls haven't been worth a hoot notching an ugly 1-13 ATS tally including a filthy 0-12 ATS provided they are priced as an underdog or a favorite of -11 or less. With Thursday classes starting at noon or later canceled on the Mean Green campus, Coach Brown and his players will have the student body’s full support and a capacity crowd of 30,100 at DATCU Stadium. Take North Texas. Thanks, and best of luck, Tom.
