Sean Newcomb (2-4, 2.77 ERA) vs. Gavin Williams (13-7, 3.78 ERA) .
This series is going to tell quite a bit on what to expect in October. These teams are separated by less than a game and there's only a few weeks left in the regular season. The White Sox have the current edge. But, I'm expecting the home team to prevail on Monday evening. Sean Newcomb gets the start and although he's got solid looking numbers, his 9.95 ERA in the month of September so far isn't so good. He won't go too far into this outing.
On the other hand, Gavin Williams will be the starter. He's significantly stronger here at home with a 13-7 record & a 3.01 ERA this season. I believe that the Guardians are the stronger team heading into the stretch and should eke out home field in the opening series of the playoffs. Give me Cleveland.
