- The Detroit Tigers were originally going with Casey Mize in this one. Regardless of who they send to the bump, the Athletics are in big trouble in sending Jeffrey Springs to the mound. The left-hander is 3-10 with a 6.23 ERA in 21 starts this season, and over his last seven, is 0-4 with a 10.24 ERA. He has a worse ERA in Sacramento (6.79) than he does on the road (5.62), so being at home doesn't worry me. The Tigers hit the road in need of a boost, looking to shake off a 1-4 skid that followed a 15-5 win streak. Detroit opens its road trip with an easy win.
