Yesterday’s Results for Montreal Alouettes vs Ottawa Redblacks

Analysis: East Division Total of the Year. My selection is on the 'under' between Montreal and Ottawa at 7:30 pm et on Friday. While I can understand the logic behind this total being set in the 60's - scoring has been way up across the CFL this season - I think it will prove too high. Ottawa checks in 0-6 on the season but does come off its bye week. With extra preparation time against a familiar divisional opponent and Montreal coming off a short week having played on Sunday, I do think there's a path for the Redblacks to keep the Alouettes offense in check, at least to a certain extent. Meanwhile, Montreal's defense turned in arguably its best performance of the season against Hamilton, particularly in the second half. All-Star corner Kabian Ento will return for Montreal this week and that bolsters an already terrific secondary that hasn't performed up to expectations this season but certainly showed positive signs last week. Ottawa already lost the first meeting between these two teams in a 37-35 shootout in Montreal on June 28th. I'm not sure either team is looking to get involved in another track meet here yet we're working with a considerably higher posted total. Keep in mind, we've seen the scoring begin to settle down in the CFL lately with three consecutive games totalling 54 points or less entering Friday's action. Take the under (10*).
