Vanderbilt vs Kentucky Prediction

The current betting odds have Kentucky listed as a 10.5 point favorite in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. Kentucky has looked great in their games this season with their 6-1 record overall and their 4-1 conference record which has them right near the top of the SEC. They have looked good on their home field too with their 3-1 home record this season. Meanwhile, Vanderbilt has looked terrible in their games this season with their 3-4 record overall and their 0-4 conference record which has them right at the bottom of the SEC. They haven't been a good road team either with their 0-2 road record this year. Vanderbilt had a nice 3-0 start to the season, but they have looked terrible in conference play and they are headed right back towards the bottom of the SEC. They had a great season last year, but as this season goes on it seems more and more apparent that a lot of their success last season was due to Diego Pavia. Now that Pavia is gone, Vandy has reverted back to the program that they have been for the last few years. They are coming off a 31-21 home loss to Arkansas in their last one and that was their best chance to win a conference game this season with Arkansas being one of the worst in the SEC. Now they are on the road against Kentucky who has been rolling lately and Kentucky has put their hat in the ring for the CFP now. They have 1 bad loss to Alabama, but they are coming off a 21-13 road win over Oklahoma and have been rolling with a great offense. Vanderbilt is going to be the worst team in the SEC this season, so look for Kentucky to continue rolling here. The best way to place a bet here is on Kentucky to cover the spread in this game.

Notable Quotes

“We're actively in pursuit of a better performance. We're trying to find the right combination of people. We're giving guys opportunities to play, and you know, we'll be better.” - Clark Lea after his team’s loss against Arkansas in their last game.

"Play harder for guys you love and actually have respect for. So that's one thing that shows a lot with our team is they're playing for each other. And then toughness, like, toughness wins in football --college football and the SEC. You've gotta be mentally and physically tough. When we watch our tape, our guys fight. They fly around, they hit. They strain on the perimeter, they block up front, we run the ball. Those are, I think, two of the biggest DNA traits of our team is our connection and toughness." - Will Stein after his team’s win against Oklahoma in their last game.
