Oklahoma vs Michigan Prediction

The current betting odds have Oklahoma listed as a 5.5 point favorite in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. Oklahoma has a 1-0 record overall this season and they destroyed a team from the FBS in their season opener. They beat UTEP 51-0 and the defense looked just as good as last season, if not better. They had one of the best defenses in the nation last year and they look like they are going to have one of the best defenses once again this season. Their offense did have a lot of trouble last year and didn't look great at times, but Mateer is healthy again and looked great in that offense. They put up a ton of points and were moving the ball with ease. Meanwhile, Michigan also has a 1-0 record overall this season, but they barely scraped by in their season opener. They are coming off a 13-12 win at home against Western Michigan and they were very fortunate to escape with the win from a last second hail mary. Western Michigan is definitely not a bad team, being the MAC champions last season, but they still don't have nearly as much talent as Michigan and still took them down to the wire. Now Michigan is getting a really big test with Oklahoma coming to town and Oklahoma looks like a team ready to compete for a National Championship this season while Michigan looks like a team that needs a lot more time to turn things around with their new head coach. Michigan played well on defense, but this is a stronger offense that they are going to be facing and their own offense had a lot of trouble against a weaker WMU defense, now taking on one of the best defenses in the nation. The best way to place a bet here is on Oklahoma to cover the spread in this game.

Notable Quotes

"Yeah, we got a good group. A lot of them can do the same things, and then some of them are really good at, whether it's blocking or catching and things of that nature. I think that group has an opportunity to become one of the strengths of our football team, if they continue to develop that group as a whole. You saw, you know, Tryane Washington get extensive snaps, and we've been bragging on him for a couple of years. I know he was just a freshman last year. He's a high school wide receiver and DB, and now he's 260, you know, plus pounds, and he's playing fullback, h-back, playing in the wing, playing on the ball, and is a tremendous athlete. Really excited about you know that the depth and the versatility of that group." - Brent Venables after his team’s win against UTEP in their last game.

“One for the history books right here." - Kyle Whittingham after his team’s win against WMU in their last game.
