Auburn vs Tennessee Prediction

The current betting odds have Tennessee listed as a 7 point favorite in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. Tennessee has looked good in their games this season with their 3-1 record overall, but their 0-1 conference record has them right near the bottom of the SEC. They have looked good on their home field with their 2-1 home record this season. Meanwhile, Auburn has looked good in their games this season with their 3-1 record overall and their 1-1 conference record which has them right in the middle of the SEC. They haven't played any road games though and will be playing their 1st road game of the season here. Auburn is coming off a 21-15 win over Vanderbilt in their last one and their defense looked great in that one. They have a ton of talent on their defense this year and haven't given up a ton of points in a lot of their games, but the offense has been a big issue for them. They had a lot of trouble putting up points against bad teams like Vanderbilt and Baylor, Brown really struggling in his 1st year playing in the SEC now. The only game that their offense looked great in was against Florida, but their defense looked terrible in that one as they gave up 44 points and couldn't keep up, Florida running away with it throughout the game. Now this is their 1st true road game in the SEC and Tennessee is a ranked team who has been really good in the conference for years. They have looked a lot better at home too and even though they do have a loss there, they are coming off a 20-17 loss to Texas who is the 1st ranked team in the nation and Tennessee still had a chance to win that one at the end. Tennessee has a lot of talent on defense too, shutting down that Texas offense last week, and they have a lot more talent on offense with a great rushing attack that is going to cause issues for Auburn who let Florida run all over them for 60 minutes. The best way to place a bet here is on Tennessee to cover the spread in this game.

Notable Quotes

“One of the keys for us to have success on our offense was to be able to handle the pressure, to be able to handle the true, the cover zero looks, the all-up looks. I thought Byrum handled it extremely well.” - Alex Golesh after his team’s win against Vandy in their last game.

“Up front we weren’t good enough. Quarterback was not good enough. We didn’t play smart enough, but I’ll take the effort.” - Josh Heupel after his team’s loss against Texas in their last game.
